Textarea at a glance
A multi-line field with the family's shape, label and validation — plus what only several lines need: rows, growth, a resize grip, a counter and a footer.
- Same family`variant`, `rounded`, `labelPlacement`, error and helper text work as in the text field, so a form reads as one set.
- Height is a decision`rows` sets the start, `autoGrow` follows the content, `maxRows` caps it, and `resizable` hands the height to the user.
- Label on top by defaultA multi-line box has no free first line to float into, so the label defaults to `top`; overlay placements raise it from the start.

Start with rows
Pick `rows` for the expected answer: a short comment and a cover letter are different fields.
Grow or scroll
`autoGrow` with `maxRows` keeps short text compact and long text scrollable inside a bounded box.
